Provider Support Modules
In general there exist two kind or support modules for provider:
- prepared provider modules, containing all provider-specific data. If such a module
is available for a given provider, data like e.g. telephone number and mail server name
need not to be entered by the user
- one generic module, allowing manual entry of provider-specific data.
This module can be used where for a given provider a prepared module is not yet available.
Prepared provider support modules contain all necessary data to configure a dial-in account
for a given rate. Depending on the provider and its offerings, a provider module
contains data for
- one or more rates
- one or more countries
For each rate, the module contains information about
- supported dial-in hardware (analogue, digital or xDSL connection)
- wether registration is required or not
At this point, we don't know yet for which providers prepared modules will be available
in the future, but would be happy to accept your suggestions.
Note:
- especially prepared provider modules are created only by the project team
in order to ensure that only valid and proof-tested provider modules are being published.
- provider modules are only created for internet providers and not for
dial-in accounts for remote access servers and alike.
- contact the project team to let them know about providers
that would make sense to have a prepared provider module for.
